Chromebooks at Wolfert Tweetalig
Wolfert Tweetalig recognizes the growing impact of digitalization. Therefore, we believe it is important for our students to develop digital skills, ensuring they are well-prepared for the future. At Wolfert Tweetalig, students use Chromebooks, which are essential in many lessons as digital learning methods are widely integrated into our curriculum.
Using a device as a structured learning tool makes education more engaging and up-to-date. It also helps students learn more effectively and efficiently.
Chromebooks are used across all subjects. Each student has their own Google school email address. For lower secondary students, homework is managed via Google Calendar, and assignments are available in Google Classroom. Upper secondary students use Magister for this purpose. Additionally, an increasing number of assessments are conducted online.
Partnership with The Rent Company
Since the start of school year 2024-2025, Wolfert Tweetalig has partnered with The Rent Company, a specialist in providing affordable devices for secondary school students.
Together with The Rent Company, we have selected a range of Chromebooks that are tailored to the needs of students of our school. The models available through The Rent Company come with:
- A battery life of at least 8 hours
- A durable casing
- A special water-resistant cover
- Support and Service
Since Chromebooks are an essential part of many lessons at Wolfert Tweetalig, reliable service is crucial. The Rent Company provides the Easy4u service package, which includes warranty, support, and coverage for damage and theft.
If a Chromebook breaks, the student can hand it in at the school’s ICT department. While the device is being repaired, the student will receive a Chromebook from the school on loan, ensuring they always have access to a functioning device in class.
How to order
Once a student is enrolled at Wolfert Tweetalig, parents/guardians will receive a flyer containing a unique code. By entering this code on The Rent Company’s website, they can select a laptop. Parents/guardians can also choose whether they wish to purchase or rent the device.
Bringing the Chromebook to school
The Chromebook will be delivered with all necessary software pre-installed. This means that when the student starts school, their laptop is fully prepared for the academic year.
Purchasing or Renting a Device
A Chromebook is not included in the standard free learning materials. We kindly ask parents/guardians to arrange for a device for their child. If purchasing a device is not possible, parents/guardians can contact the school by sending an email to tweetalig@wolfert.nl. The school will then provide information on possible solutions.
