MESSAGE FROM OUR HEAD OF SCHOOL
30 August 2010 -
Welcome back
to all our returning students, parents/guardians and staff and a big welcome to our new students, parents/guardians and staff. I am sure that you will be well looked after and made to feel part of our RISS community.

I am very excited about my new role and am looking forward to working together with you all to make RISS a school that we can all be proud of.

The PTA is also looking for new, enthusiastic members. Find out more about the PTA at the “Back to School” meeting on the 10th September.

Hope to see you all then.

AIDAN RETIREMENT
28 June 2010 - A Farewell to Aidan Campbell

On behalf of all RISS staff, students and parents, we would like to wish Aidan Campbell all the best in his future endeavors.

Aidan has been Head of School for ten years and has taken us from a small school of 100 students to 210 students. He has steered us through our first mission statement and School Improvement Plan which were the seeds for our journey to being recognized by the CIS and NEASC accreditation councils as an exemplary school.

He has achieved all this with a sense of humor and always keeping his eye on the “big issues,” which were important for the school’s academic success.

He is retiring and is looking forward to the challenges his newly chosen path will take him. He will be missed but we are also happy for him following his dreams.

We wish him all the best and know that he will be back to see how his school is blossoming.

Thank you, Aidan, for all you have given to us!

ACCREDITATION HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL
28 May 2010 -

Dear RISS Community,

It is my pleasure to announce that our two and a half year quest for joint Council of International Schools CIS, & New England Association of Schools & Colleges NEASC, accreditation has been successful.

We are now part of a small cohort of International Schools world-wide who have attained this prestigious quality standard. I am delighted that our school has gained this world renowned recognition.

This is indeed a fitting tribute to the professional dedication and commitment of our staff students and community. It also assures our ongoing drive to school improvement planning.

In their letter awarding joint accreditation, CIS / NEASC, has acknowledged that "the seriousness which the school has shown in its endeavour to strive for improvement has been exemplary".

My sincere congratulations to each and every member of our school community who contributed so positively to our successful accreditation status.
Well done all!

Aidan Campbell
Head of School

2 September 2009 - Can you help us?????

Do you have book in your own language that you aren’t using any more?

The EAL/Mother Tongue Departments would appreciate you donating novels, magazines and various types of reading materials to the school. This is so our students can continue to read in their own languages.

Would you like to help us by donating books? Please contact Alexa Nijpels on 010 890 7745 or any@wolfert.nl

On behalf of the students we thank you for your generous donations!
